Search outcomes are not guaranteed

A thermal camera reads heat differences at the surface. It cannot see through roofs, dense canopy, or thick cover, and it cannot identify an animal on its own: a heat signature must still be confirmed visually. Weather, terrain, the time since the animal was lost or shot, and the animal's own behavior all affect whether it can be located. A search that does not locate the animal is still a completed search.

We coordinate. Pilots fly.

Found From Above does not perform searches and does not operate aircraft. Searches are performed by independent pilots under their own FAA Part 107 certificates, insurance, and judgment. The pilot on site makes the final call on whether, when, and how to fly.

Legal information is general, not advice

The legality of using a drone to recover deer varies by state and changes over time. We restrict deer recovery bookings to states we have determined allow the practice, based on the law and agency guidance available to us. That determination is general information, not legal advice, and it is not a guarantee. Customers and pilots remain responsible for complying with the current law, regulations, and agency requirements where a search takes place, and for the lawful handling, tagging, and transport of any recovered game.

Follow the pilot's instructions on site

For your safety and the success of the search, follow the assigned pilot's instructions during operations, including staying out of the search area until asked to enter it.

Third parties

The site and the booking process rely on third-party providers (including hosting, form processing, email, and payment providers). We are not responsible for outages or acts of those providers beyond our reasonable control.
