Found From Above Terms of Use
These terms govern use of foundfromabove.com and the booking services of Found From Above, operated by Post Up, LLC, a Georgia limited liability company ("Found From Above," "we," "us"). By submitting a search request, applying as a pilot, or using the site, you agree to these terms. Questions: hello@foundfromabove.com or (423) 556-3927.
1. What the service is
Found From Above is a booking and referral platform that connects customers with independent thermal drone pilots for three services: recovery of legally harvested deer (offered only in states where drone deer recovery is legal), lost pet search, and lost livestock recovery.
2. Pilots are independent businesses
Pilots listed on the platform are independent businesses. They are not employees, agents, or partners of Found From Above. We check each pilot's FAA Part 107 certification and insurance at onboarding, but verification is not a guarantee of any pilot's work, availability, or results. Each pilot is solely responsible for:
- Complying with FAA rules, airspace authorization, and safe operation of the aircraft.
- The decision to fly or not fly, including weather, airspace, and safety calls.
- The quality and conduct of the search itself.
3. Legality and customer responsibilities
Drone deer recovery is regulated state by state. We offer deer recovery bookings only in states we have determined allow it. By requesting a deer recovery, you represent that:
- The deer was legally harvested.
- You own the property to be searched, or you have the landowner's permission for the search, including any neighboring property the search may reasonably need to cover.
- You will cooperate with state requirements that apply to the search (for example, agency notification or authorization steps in states that require them).
Customers are responsible for complying with all hunting, tagging, and game recovery laws that apply to them. Nothing on this site is legal advice.
4. Requests, bookings, and fees
- A search request is not a confirmed booking. A booking is confirmed when a pilot accepts the job and we confirm the pilot's name, rate, and arrival window to you.
- Customers pay the pilot's quoted rate for the search. Some searches include a success fee if the animal is located, as stated in the pilot's quote.
- Deposits may be required to confirm a booking. Found From Above charges pilots a commission on jobs booked through the platform and may charge customers a booking fee. Any booking fee will be disclosed before you confirm.
- Payments collected through the platform are processed by Stripe.
5. Cancellations and refunds
- If you cancel before a pilot accepts your request, any deposit you paid is refunded in full.
- After a pilot accepts, the deposit covers dispatch. If the search does not take place (for example, weather, airspace restrictions, or pilot equipment failure), the deposit is applied to a rescheduled search or refunded, at your choice.
- Once a search flight has been performed, the fee for that flight is earned whether or not the animal is located.
6. No guarantee of recovery
Thermal search improves the odds of locating an animal. It does not guarantee that an animal will be found. See the Disclaimer for the limits of the technology and the service.
7. Customer conduct during a search
Provide accurate information. Stay clear of the search area during flight operations unless the pilot asks you to enter it. Do not fly your own drone in the search area during a booked search. You are responsible for safe access to the property and for any animals or people you bring to it.
8. Reviews
We may invite customers to review a pilot after a job. You agree to review honestly. We may publish reviews on pilot profiles and may remove reviews that are false, abusive, or unrelated to a real job.
9. Site content and acceptable use
Site content belongs to Found From Above or its licensors. Do not misuse the site, scrape pilot contact details to bypass the platform, submit false requests, or use the service for any unlawful purpose.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Found From Above's total liability arising from the service is limited to the amounts you paid through the platform in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for a pilot's acts or omissions, for unsuccessful searches, or for indirect or consequential damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Found From Above and Post Up, LLC against claims arising from your use of the service, your breach of these terms, or your violation of any law, including hunting and property laws.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Georgia law. Disputes will be addressed first through good faith discussion. If that fails, disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Fulton County, Georgia, and you consent to that venue.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. The current version will be posted on this page with its "last updated" date, and continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
